- chemical formula Na²CO³ - AKA Sodium Carbonate, Washing Soda and Soda Ash - is used to raise pH levels in pools. The natural tendency is for pH to rise in pools, especially if the principal Chlorine donor is Trichloro
- pH-plus is a supplied as a water-soluble, white powder
- Low pH pool-water is corrosive and can damage equipment like heat-exchangers and pumps
- It will also erode metals, grout and plaster
- Both low and high pH level reduces the effectiveness of all Chlorine sanitizers
- A pH level of between 7.2 and 7.6 is ideal
- Note: - Total Alkalinity should be in the range of 80-120ppm before adjusting pH. If TA is low adjust with Sodium Bicarbonate
- Pre-dissolve the product in a clean plastic container and add it to the pool near to the return jets with the pump running to aid thorough mixing
- This chemical dissolves quicker in warm water
- Run the pump for 4 hours to ensure that the pH-plus has been thoroughly mixed with the water and, if necessary, apply more Na²CO³ to raise the pH to the optimum of 7.2 - 7.6
