Covers

Geobubble Pool Covers

Geobubble 'Pool Blankets' are now carefully hand-made in Murcia, Spain. We have installed hundreds of these excellent covers over the years

There are several types and qualities of Floating Solar Covers. We recommend that you install only the very best available as this represents the best value for money in both the short term and the long term.

Floating Solar Covers are, in effect, heavy-duty, UV-stabilised, blue bubble-wrap.

Like all plastics they are affected by sunlight and, eventually, they will break down but Daisy 500 micron Pool Covers - (the best quality and value pool-covers we can source) come with an 8 year Warranty.

Daisy Covers do not need to be edged with vinyl tape, and they are so efficient (see the Testimonial below) that each cover comes complete with a white solar-reflective sleeve, which protects the cover from overheating whilst it is stored on the roller.

Daisy's exclusive Ultradome bubble technology eliminates weak points - and the super-toughened polyethylene material resists salt, sun and chemicals - Daisy Ultradome is a stronger swimming pool cover that lasts much longer.

                                      daisy-ultradome-bubble-graphic

A roller is also required to remove and re-place the cover.

The width for a floating pool-cover is limited to 6.6 metres as this is the maximum width spanned by a telescopic roller. Rollers are made from Stainless Steel, Aluminium and Brass and will last for many years. One end is fitted with wheels to enable the roller/cover to be moved away from the pool whilst the cover is removed

.Daisy Pool-cover Rollers are also revolutionary and have an astonishing 10 year Warranty. With a hand-wheel at each end, Daisy rollers are stylish and very simple to operate. The range of rollers includes free-standing, fixed, wall-mounted, fully mobile (wheeled) - whatever your pool there is a roller for you! Daisy even have rollers for above-ground pools.

The process of making a pool cover:

We visit the pool by appointment and take accurate measurements, prepare a written Quotation and, if we are awarded the work, take a deposit of 50%. The deposit can be in cash, by cheque or by Bank Transfer.

We then make a cover that is slightly larger than your pool.

We return to the pool by appointment, float the cover on the water and cut it exactly to size, forming the cover into the curves of the Roman End, leaving cut-outs for ladder steps, etc., always complying with the Pool Industry Safety Guidelines.

Next, we make the reflective Solar Sleeve - used when the cover is off the pool and stored on the roller.

Then we teach you how to operate the cover, roller and reflective sleeve correctly to get the maximum life-span from your equipment.

Lastly, we give you the official Factura and collect the balance.

We can normally complete an installation in 7 - 10 working days

Testimonial

Dear Ken,

Just thought you might like to know how pleased we are with our Daisy Pool Cover, we brought it from you last August, and although you said it

was much more efficient at keeping the heat in, than our old one was, we thought it might just be "sales talk".

BUT YOU WERE RIGHT! We are amazed how much difference to the temperature it has made, we have hardly needed to use the pool heater at all this winter, and now of course we have to wind the cover back, so the water is not too hot! Its great, thanks a lot, and feel free to pass our name on as a recommendation,

Kind regards, Pauline and John Jeffrey, Estepona.

Pricing

Each of our covers is custom made to the individual pool and therefore it's not possible to give an exact price without more information on the pool. You will be happy to learn, however, that Daisy Covers cost no more than the inferior covers supplied by our competitors!

Katchakid

100% effective Pool Safety device - ZERO accidents after more than 45 years!

Katchakid Pool Safety Nets have been preventing drowning tragedies in commercial, public and private pools since 1967.  More than 450,000 pool nets have been installed throughout the world since then - without a single report of a drowning, nor even a near-drowning

We started to import this excellent Safety System into Spain in 2002 and are proud to have been the first in Europe to bring you Katchakid - the ultimate pool safety net!

Trained Katchakid Technicians located in southern Spain can install Katchakid for you professionally. If your pool is outside of this area we can supply a simplified-installation 'DIY' Katchakid with Installation Manual and DVD (both in English)

Total security for children and pets around the pool

Total peace of mind for adults - because Katchakid works!

Katchakid's purpose is twofold: -

It acts as a deterrent. The pool is no longer an open magnet to children. They might investigate but lose interest fairly quickly ... It’s a learning process. When Katchakid is on the pool, kids quickly learn that this means 'NO! the swimming pool is CLOSED.'

It serves as a final, impenetrable barrier if the children do manage to get near the pool. If they stumble and fall in, stretch out for a lost toy or even ride their bikes across it Katchakid will catch them and save them!

Kids can’t get through Katchakid and they can’t get under it; it's the ultimate in child drowning prevention.

Key Benefits: -

Impossible for your child (or most pets) to reach the water

Impossible for most children under 10 (and most household pets!) to remove, get through or get under the net

Affordable peace of mind for you - just open the back door and let the kids run. You can be sure that, whatever else the kids are doing, they are safe because - Katchakid prevents drowning!

Katchakid look better than a pool fence and does not 'clutter' the pool area

Katchakid - available in BLUE for pools - or in BLACK for ponds, lakes and water deposits

TEAP Salt Chlorinator

TEAP 'Saliclor' Chlorine generator - Sanitises the pool and automatically controls the pH

Enjoy the smooth-as-silk sensation of swimming in a saltwater pool - and benefit from ultra-low levels of chlorine in your pool!

Chlorine, the commonest pool sanitation system, performs its main task well but it does so at a price.

Chlorine is expensive, corrosive, caustic and poisonous - dangerous to handle or even to breathe.

It's effective because it destroys anything organic by a process similar to combustion - (but hang on . . aren't PEOPLE organic?

Anyone who has been in a chlorine-sanitised pool will probably be familiar with the chemical odour, burning eyes, and possibly the accompanying skin/hair dryness. (Largely, these symptoms are caused by 'chloramines' - a group of chlorine compounds that are produced as a part of the chlorine combustion process and are a result of not enough chlorine in the pool, which many people are surprised by.)

Transportation, handling and storing Chlorine can also be problematic as it can react with other pool chemicals, notably pool acid, resulting in a potential release of poisonous chlorine gas, a fire or even an explosion.

As an alternative to the unpleasant side effects of chlorine, many pool owners are now changing to saline (salt water) purification systems or installing them from the outset in a new pool.

One of the best attributes of a salt-water pool is that they don't support algae so you'll spend less time dealing with that problem. TEAP systems also control the pH level automatically, so you'll spend less time keeping it within the ideal range of 7.2 - 7.6

The Saliclor Chlorine Generator produces chlorine gas by electrolysis of the salt water; so there is no longer a need for pool-owners to handle potentially harmful chemicals.

While still being very effective, the levels of residual chlorine in the water are ultra-low. There is still a trace of chlorine in a salt pool as Sodium Hypochlorite, but well maintained salt pool systems are much gentler than traditional chlorinated pools.

Salt water pools, on the whole, are easier to manage. The Saliclor Chlorine Generator takes all the guesswork out of pool sanitation and pH control - it's all automatic!

The digital control box automatically produces the current that breaks down the salt in the water, by electrolysis, as needed; producing billions of microscopic bubbles of chlorine gas. These bubbles can be seen in the transparent 'chlorination chamber', coming off the Titanium plates like 'smoke'.

The chlorine gas sanitises the volume of water in which it is produced, resulting in ultra-sanitised water being returned to your pool. By the time the newly-sanitised water has reached the pool 99% of the chlorine gas has re-combined (with the other compounds produced by electrolysis) and has reverted to salt.

The Saliclor control system automatically tests the water for salt level concentration and alerts you if more salt need to be added. It also takes over the job of testing pH levels and automatically adds acid to bring the pH to the correct level.

A salt-water pool has only the same concentration of salt as human tears, i.e. 0,55%; it's not 3.5-4% salt like the Mediterranean. - when the pool water gets in your eyes there is no stinging, redness or irritation.  The addition of salt to the water also imparts a 'silkiness' that leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth.

As a bonus you can wave goodbye to dry skin, green hair, faded swimwear and the need to remove chlorine from the skin with a shower after a swim; because the pool has only tiny quantities of chlorine in the water.

The system will repay the cost of installation in around 2 years, and continue to provide inexpensive, healthy sanitation for your pool for many years to come. While the best pool options are initially a little more expensive to put in, they're a more cost-effective system in the end.

Converting your chlorinated pool to a salt water pool is not expensive. For many, this is one of the advantages. Chlorine is very expensive and unlikely to get cheaper anytime soon and, by comparison, the amount of salt you'll use during a year is pennies.

As a pricing guide: the Saliclor Combination System for a pool up to 80 cubic metres costs the pool-owner around €1850 inc IVA, fully installed.

SPECIAL OFFER - for limited period only - 1 years supply of salt and acid FREE!

Please Contact Us - using the form below -  with the approximate dimensions and/or the volume of your pool, and also where the pool is located, and we will give an exact price for the fully-installed Saliclor System. We will gladly visit your pool for a free Guaranteed-price Quotation.

Pool Heat Pumps

Heat Pumps

Put some Heat into the pool and enjoy a longer swimming season - all year round if you want!

Heat Pumps warm a swimming pool economically using small amounts of electricity to capture large amounts of free heat from the air. Based on the same principles employed in air conditioners and refrigerators, a Heat Pump extracts the latent heat that exists in the atmosphere around us and delivers it directly into the swimming pool water.

Features & Benefits of our Heat Pumps

  • Maintains the pool temperature 24 hours a day
  • Fast heat up times
  • Reduced temperature when the pool is not in use.
  • Modern units are super-efficient and very quiet
  • Corrosion-proof titanium heat exchanger
  • Heat Pump cases are impervious to corrosion and guarantee maximum life regardless of the weather
  • Scroll compressor - widely regarded as the quietest operating system
  • High quality commercial digital thermostat to ensure the pool water temperature is always accurate.

Environmentally Friendly

Heat Pumps are an environmentally friendly and economic option to heat your pool. Operating on a similar principal to your refrigerator or air conditioner, Heat Pumps use environmentally-friendly refrigerant gas that extracts the latent heat from the air and transfers this heat into the pool water.

A Heat Pump to suit your pool and your lifestyle

We supply and install a wide selection of top-quality heat pumps to suit virtually any size of pool or spa, from small residential pools to large public pools. When choosing your heat pump, we recommend you assess your lifestyle and determine what times of the year you want to use your pool.

If you wish to swim during the summer and shoulder season only, say from early May to late October, a small heat pump can be installed, saving on up-front costs and ongoing operating costs. However, for all year round swimming, we have the right heat pump too, to ensure you can use your pool at any time of the year.

We have 12 years experience of installing Heat Pumps in Spain. We have learned (the hard way!) that installing a cheap Chinese heater works out far costlier in the end due to frequent breakdowns, unavailable spare parts and higher power consumption. All the Heat Pumps that we currently supply are designed for long, trouble-free life and include models by AstralPool, Calorex, Angel Fire, Florida, Jandy, Hayward, Certikin and more.

Selecting your Heat-Pump

  • Decide how much use you want to get from your pool; take the chill off the water during spring, summer and autumn, luxuriate in warm relaxing water for most of the year, or swim all year round regarding of the weather conditions
  • Measure your pool in metres, average length and width and the average depth
  • Call or email us for advice on the heat pump that suits you

Each of our Pool Heaters is selected for, and custom installed to, the individual pool and therefore it's not possible to give an exact price per se. Tell us the approximate size of your pool and we can then offer you an approximate cost for your heat-pump and installation.

Pool Reforms

Isn't it time you gave your pool some TLC?

Nothing lasts forever and pools are no exception. . .

When a pool is first installed it all looks lovely; the mosaic tiles with their grout-lines full, the blindingly white marble pool surround, the pool equipment all new and shiny; and not a trace of lime-scale anywhere.

However, a few years down the road the harsh environment of the pool - out in the sun all day and constantly wet - will affect its appearance and those pristine mosaics, the lovely marble pool surround, the sand-filter and the pump begin to look a little tired; even in a well-maintained pool.A slight chemical imbalance during the life of the pool can damage the pool. For example, a too low pH reading indicates acidic water that will erode the grout or, if the pH of the pool has been too high, even for just a couple of weeks, the water can coat the tiles in a layer of rough, unsightly lime-scale.

Pool surrounds are designed to be safe, non-slip surfaces - which provide millions of 'hiding places' for dirt and dust and so the surround gradually changes colour to an ugly, murky, grey/brown.

The decorative border at the waterline becomes coated in lime-scale which absorbs dust, pollen, sun-cream and body oils. These get baked onto the tiles by strong sunlight and the unsightly result is impossible to remove by scrubbing with a pool-brush.

Tiles can and do become chipped, or fall off and get lost, or become detached during vacuuming (these particular tiles usually end up in the pump basket but sometimes they can block an automatic cleaner or a suction line completely).

Missing and/or broken tiles are particularly common on tiled steps, and a broken tile in this area can lead to some nasty cuts to bathers' feet.

Our 'Swimming Pool TLC Winter Make-Over'

The best time to carry out a make-over on your pool is when you have finished with it for the winter.

We offer a full pool reform for 'loved-but-tired' pools, we: -

  • Drain the pool
  • Acid-wash the pool surround and the inside of the pool to remove lime-scale and algae
  • Jet-wash these same areas to remove loose dirt and soft grout, etc.
  • Completely re-grout the pool walls and floor (or repaint it if it's a painted pool)
  • Change the contents of the filter to Zeolite advanced filter media
  • Dismantle, service and re-assemble the pump, renew the pump basket
  • Renew the white plastic main-drain grilles, impulsion-jet fittings, skimmer lids, skimmer baskets, etc.
  • Clean and tidy the pump/filter room or in-ground box
  • Refill the pool from your water supply

The above treatment will leave your pool looking almost brand-new.

Price: - From just €849 plus IVA

Before and after Acid Washing

Full Pool Reforms

Many people buy a property with an abandoned pool.  Invariably, the pool needs a great deal of work before it can be used and we can carry out all and any work that may be required.

Full-renovation work of an abandoned pool almost always includes everything listed in the 'Swimming pool TLC Winter Make-Over' above but may also include: -

  • Complete re-tiling of the pool
  • Replacement of the pool surround
  • Repair or replacement of pump, filter, valves and plumbing
  • Installation of Jacuzzi-jets
  • Re-shaping of the steps and/or pool for safety reasons
  • Installation of seating, or play areas for the younger swimmer
  • Construction of a new terrace, shade, balustrades, seating, etc.
  • Anything else required to turn an existing 'swamp and waste-ground' into a dream pool area.

Price: - Starting from just €849 plus IVA

Just a moment!  Isn't that the same price as for a Winter Make-over?

Yes, but some abandoned pools can be brought back to life ONLY with the Winter Make-over treatment.

Other pools may need a great deal more work to return them to service but, whatever the individual case may turn out to be, we offer a fully detailed, Written Quotation (not an 'estimate') of the costs before beginning work - and we keep to that price. Please see 'Important Information' below.

Terrace Reforms

We also undertake reforms and/or installation to poolside terraces and can install tiling, decking, printed concrete, lighting (LEDs or Fibre Optics), misting systems, sound systems, bars and barbecues, shade sails; you name it!

We supply all plant and equipment featured on this website. All our work is Guaranteed; Parts and Labour
